The Journey So Far

In 2020, network experts ideated a rapid response system for monitoring, predicting, and responding to spill-over events for public health decisions. This led to the initial discussions fo the OneHealth Bengaluru City Consortium (OHBC) in 2021 under the Principal Scientific Adviser’s S&T cluster in Bengaluru (BeST). In 2023, OHBC members and the BBMP launched a disease surveillance dashboard for Bangalore’s 14 million residents with an initial focus on dengue. In 2024, the Bengaluru municipal government (BBMP) initiated an apex OneHealth Cell including OHBC members to prevent, monitor, and respond to zoonotic disease outbreaks.

We pledge our human, animal, and environmental health are equal and interdependent for our well-being.
